This is Jack, bailed out of a San Diego Shelter by a Collie lover. Poor Jack was miserable and crying every day. Now he is in a foster home with Collies, is housebroken, neutered, up to date on vaccines, and looking for his forever home. His rescuers say he is super devoted and intelligent, a dog that wants a special bond with a special person to last forever. He is very gentle and excellent on a leash. Kellie is a very sweet, 9 years old, spayed female, dark sable & white, Collie and Shepherd Mix. She is shy and calm with an alert and inquisitive look. She loves to hang out with her people, sleep on the couch and snuggle. She is very smart and has started playing with our other more gentle dogs. She is active and needs space to stretch her legs when she decides to get off the couch. Kellie is smart and beautiful but reserved until she gets to know and trust you. She has a thin build and is getting used to eating two meals a day. She is approximately 22” and 50 lbs. We were told that she gets along great with kids, dogs and cats. We have kids and dogs so that much is true. We are estimating that she was born about 2/25/2002. She is housetrained with ‘at will’ access to the yard. Kismet is a 11 month old Heinz 57 mix. Kismet (which means fate or fortune) was brought to a city shelter after suffering an injury which broke his hind leg. After having him there for several weeks the decision was made for euthanasia. A collie rescue volunteer was asked to take him, essentially to save his life. Here he is, waiting for a loving home to share his fortune. He is a good puppy, learning quickly how to live in a house. He gets along great with many different dogs, loves a good romp and doesn't let his hard luck past get him down. He will likely be a fairly large dog but not a giant. He is learning housebreaking quickly.

NICO is an adorable 1-year-old, 40lb female smooth collie/shepherd mix. She is spayed, vaccinated and housebroken. A high-energy dog that loves to play, NICO is great with kids and other animals. She currently lives with two outdoor cats. Per her foster home, if the cats move slowly, NICO is fine with them, but she will chase them if they run. She has never bitten or attacked them. (Sounds like NICO is acting pretty much like a collie/shep mix!) NICO is very affectionate and loves to cuddle with her people. NICO was originally adopted from the San Pedro shelter by a very young couple who had good intentions, but have realized they cannot provide the best life for her given classes, travel, roommates, etc. Gray is charging a very reasonable adoption fee of $50 and providing collar, leash, brush and any remaining food. We live in an area on the outskirts of Las Vegas where people dump their unwanted dogs. We have a large lab & a great dane that we've kept but I can't take another. Sundae is healthy, smart and clean. Our family will have a hard time seeing her leave as she is a good companion. She loves to catch treats in mid-air and will wait and sit while you feed her. She'll sit at the door to go out and scratch at the door to come in. Sundae is about 3 yrs, has had all shots and has been in home with us for 7 months while we try to find her a home. She is playful, hunts chipmunks and lizard. She is fine with my 2 big dogs. All shelters say they are full. Can you help?

Hi, this is Van. Van is a one year old male Collie mix. He weighs about 50 pounds and he is housebroken with a doggy door. Van has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, a fecal test was done, frontlined, and microchipped. Van was living on a sidewalk in front of a house. No one "knew" why he was living there. He "just" showed up one day and he wouldn't leave. He would try to get in when the family opened the gate but they kept him out. At least they fed him and gave him water.
