BABS is an elegant and refined beauty, a gorgeous girl who minds her manners and plays well with other dogs. BABS is also trained; this smart girl knows the sit, shake paws, and down commands. However, BABS should be placed in a home without cats. Beautiful BABS is sweet-natured and social, she enjoys spending time with volunteers and shelter staff, and loves going on leisurely walks. Babs comes running to greet everyone who walks by, and she is so incredibly smart! Babs already knows several commands, and she is a dog who could easily learn more. Babs gets along well with other dogs (no cats though!), and she's just a really special dog – an easy favorite among volunteers and shelter staff alike. She'll make a wonderful and loyal companion. Bubba is a 5 yr. old black and white border collie. I have a very small condo and Bubba needs to be with someone who has a large yard with a fence as well as a commitment to spend time with him and walk him every day. He is housebroken and can be left alone - he won't damage anything. He loves to pull children on their skateboards (children over 13 are preferable.) He rides well in the car and likes to give kisses and snuggle. Bubba also has some agility skills - he can jump pretty high and loves to show off. He has personality plus but he is definitely an alpha male and can be stubborn at times. He is very particular about other dogs - some he likes and some not. (He would probably be fine with a submissive female.) He is incredibly smart and a great watchdog - he only barks when someone approaches the door. He definitely has the herding instinct and would probably be good with horses or other animals (he hasn't had the opportunity so far.) Bubba is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and has been microchipped. He is also leash trained and knows his basic commands. Bubba is a great dog and would be an incredible companion for the right person.

Lorenzo was saved from the pound on his last day on earth, and what a great day that was, as someone will be adopting a wonderful boy. He is 47 pounds, neutered, housebroken and between three and four. He is mellow, loves to go for walks, and is great on a leash. He has been to k-9 training camp and knows his commands. Lorenzo did not have an easy life, and has been mistreated. He will need to renew his trust with people, and needs someone with a gentle hand and kind heart. He is special, very sweet and just wants someone to give him a home and lots of love.

Although he is a beagle, he has many friends who are collies, and collie rescuers. He spent four long months in the shelter, after being abandoned by his humans who "had no time for him". Aging dogs require so little, and give so much. He is so appreciative of all the care, loves to walk, is leashed trained, housebroken (uses a dog door) and so wants his own soft bed to sleep on. Oso was surrendered by his owner and now sits at the Harbor Shelter in San Pedro. He is a German Shepherd dog mix that the shelter says "may have some collie in him". He is already neutered and has a beautiful coat. Oso is a medium sized dog who would probably be best as an only dog.
